Volunteer Opportunity

This year we have added this new and critical volunteer opportunity to work with and support the Angels at Dayton Pride. Advocates will not be wearing the robes and wings but will station with the Angels in the parade and at the festival on Saturday, June 3rd. Once we have an established group, we will reach out to volunteers signed up and schedule an in-person meeting with the Angels and Advocates to cover roles, responsibilities, stations, and shifts. So even if you are only available before the parade or a section of time during the festival and are interested, please still sign up. Angels you will be supporting will wear robes and wings, and work as a team to block needed areas. The wings are expansive and help to block unwanted noise and visuals from those at the festival. This is a peaceful, counter-protest role born from activism in 1998 by Romaine Patterson so loved ones could attend the funeral of Matthew Shepard in peace. Thank you for considering this important role.
